Clinic Manager (RN/LPN)

Tidewater Orthopaedics is currently seeking and RN or LPN Clinical Manager. The Clinical Manager is responsible for the efficient management of all clinical services in his/her assigned scope. The Clinical Manager ensures that the highest standard of care is delivered and maintained while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Clinical Manager is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations of all designated clinical areas, including meeting established metrics, employee supervision, administration of the company’s policies and procedures and direct patient care. The Clinical Manager collaborates with senior administration to ensure he/she can carry out goals and objectives to meet the business strategy.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Oversees day-to-day clinical operations at multiple clinic locations
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of the office/clinic staff (assuring proper staffing and coordinating designated clinic starts, lunches, early releases
  • Monitors clinical staff performance regularly and completes annual performance evaluations on all staff
  • Provides training to staff as directed by the Clinical Director
  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations
  • Resolves office/clinic issues and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional atmosphere
  • Maintains and promotes good working relationships and effective communication within the various practice locations
  • Handles patient questions, concerns and complaints in a professional manner
  • Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities for the clinic
  • Supervises and ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery
  • Works in coordination with Human Resources on employee relations issues, compensation, employment policies, etc
  • Works in coordination with Human Resources to recruit for open positions, is proactive in identifying possible open positions and communicates to Clinical Director
  • Ensures approved medical record policies and procedures are followed, including those dealing with patient confidentiality. (HIPAA)
  • Monitors clinical supply inventory and non-clinical office supply inventory and orders accordingly
  • Ensures safety of staff and patients through all appropriate precautions in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Directs, monitors, and collaborates with available departmental leads

*Clinical Services (MAs/LPNs/RNs/ATCs)

  • Oversees clinical staff including but not limited to daily oversight, time and attendance, policy adherence, annual training, competence, assignments, and PTO requests
  • Provides procedural or policy support and guidance as needed to staff; act as a resource for clinical and patient questions.
  • Oversee patient flow throughout the treatment process, monitoring and acting on areas for improvement
  • Oversee and monitor the usage of clinical supplies including injections and cast material.
  • Real time management of clinic flow to ensure efficient patient care, can easily join team to assist in clinic procedures to improve clinic flow and/or ensure patient safety
  • Oversee and manage the performance evaluations of all staff
  • Manage staff requests including PTO and ensure proper staffing levels

*Radiology

  • Manage appropriate vendor relationships
  • Oversee and ensure proper maintenance of all equipment
  • Ensure safety of staff and patience through all appropriate precautions in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Manage radiological data transfers or purging as needed
  • Manage appropriate accreditations and certifications or credentialing of staff to support continued operations
  • Oversee and manage the performance evaluations of all staff
  • Manage staff requests including PTO and ensure proper staffing levels

*DME/CAST/Triage

  • Manage appropriate vendor relationships
  • Oversee and ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained
  • Ensure quality control is monitored and maintained for all inventory
  • Act as a resource to staff and patients for proper application of equipment/device
  • Act as a resource to ensure that proper triage protocols are being followed
  • Oversee and manage the performance evaluations of all staff
  • Manage staff requests including PTO and ensure proper staffing levels

*Workers Comp

  • Closely oversee the work comp coordinators to ensure appropriate scheduling of patients, authorizations for services and processing of second opinion and IME requests
  • Manages relationships with case managers and adjusters as appropriate
  • Establish and manage functional protocols based on referral sources beginning with the most prevalent sources
  • Oversee and manage the performance evaluations of all staff
  • Manage staff requests including PTO and ensure proper staffing levels

Ancillary Clinical Support Departments (Patient Service Coordinators, Call Center, MRI)

  • Oversee and ensure optimal departmental performance by using set key performance indicators
  • Monitor procedures to ensure policy is followed
  • Oversee and manage the performance evaluations of all staff
  • Manage staff requests including PTO and ensure proper staffing levels
