Jean Picou came to Dr. Paul Maloof seeking an ankle replacement after suffering an open fracture while in the Virgin Islands. During evaluation, Dr. Maloof discovered a massive infection that threatened Jean’s ability to keep the lower half of the leg. Using innovative techniques and a carefully guided treatment plan, Dr. Maloof was able to save the leg. Today, Jean is back on his feet—walking, rebuilding strength, and working toward returning to soccer.
