Dr. Robert M. Campolattaro, MD, has been a trusted physician at Tidewater Orthopaedics in Hampton, Virginia since 2004. He is fellowship‑trained by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in hand and upper extremity surgery and is board‑certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In addition, Dr. Campolattaro holds a subspecialty certificate in surgery of the hand, reflecting his advanced expertise in this highly specialized area.
Dr. Campolattaro chose orthopaedic surgery for the intellectual challenge, precision, and technical intricacy of the field, as well as the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients. He began his academic journey at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey.
Following medical school, Dr. Campolattaro completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. He then pursued fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston‑Salem, North Carolina, further refining his surgical skills and specialized knowledge.
Dr. Campolattaro sees patients in both Hampton and Williamsburg, Virginia, providing comprehensive care for hand and wrist conditions. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Outside of his medical practice, he resides in Williamsburg and enjoys traveling and developing his wine collection.
